A few things people ask us before they choose a piece. If yours isn't here, write to us — we read every message ourselves.
Yes. Every petal is shaped slowly by hand, one at a time, using the Nanjing velvet-flower craft — fine thread drawn over wire, built up in layers. Nothing here is machine-made.
Each piece is built on wire and wrapped by hand, with glass pearls set into some designs. The finish is soft rather than glossy, which is what gives the petals their depth of colour.
Close, but not identical. Because every petal is shaped by hand, small differences in curve and colour are part of the piece. No two flowers are exactly the same.
Most pieces are made as combs, clips, brooches or pins. A comb slides into an updo or a twist and holds well. Clips suit fine hair and half-up styles. Brooches and pins work on fabric as well as in the hair. Each product page tells you which fitting the piece has.
Making takes 3–5 days, because each flower is shaped by hand. Delivery then takes 7–10 business days. Your order ships from Nanjing.
No. Everything ships DDP, duties & taxes included. The price you see at checkout is the price you pay — nothing is collected at the border.
Free on orders over $89. Under that, it's a flat $6.99. We ship to 30 countries across North America, Europe and Australia.
Yes. If it isn't right, contact us within 14 days of delivery and we'll arrange a return. Write to us with your order number and we'll take it from there.
Keep it dry and give it room. Store each piece on its own, away from moisture and direct sunlight, so the petals aren't pressed. Don't spray perfume or hairspray directly onto it. If a petal looks out of shape, reshape it very gently with your fingertips.
Sometimes. If you'd like a different colour, or a set made for a wedding, write to us with the date and what you have in mind, and we'll tell you what's possible.
We are Lunar Bloom Studio, in Nanjing, China. Every piece leaves our hands as it leaves the workshop.
