How do I care for it?
Velvet thread does not like water. Keep it away from rain, perfume and hairspray, and store it in the gift box when you are not wearing it. If a petal bends, reshape it gently with your fingers.

How long will it take to arrive?
Each piece is shaped by hand in 3–5 days, then shipped. Delivery usually takes 7–10 business days, and duties are included in the price.

The story

The Story Behind This Bloom

Buying for four people is harder than buying for one. We make these in a single session so they actually match.

The difficulty with bridesmaid flowers is not the design, it is the consistency — two batches dyed a week apart will never be the same color. So every iris in one order is shaped and tinted together, from the same batch of velvet, and put aside as a set rather than picked from stock. The iris shape helps too: unlike a rose or a peony, it flatters nearly every face shape and hair length, which takes the guesswork out of buying for other people.

Every piece is shaped in our Nanjing studio using rónghuā (绒花) — the traditional Chinese art of velvet-flower making. Because a hand shapes every petal, gentle variation within a set is normal — and visible only up close.

From thread to flower — nine steps, one bloom. The art of rónghuā (绒花), carried by hand in Nanjing, one petal at a time.

Creating the first form of each petal — combing, binding, cutting.

Building depth through hundreds of small details — rolling, opening, tipping.

Is this a real flower?

No — it is a velvet flower, shaped by hand to look like a living bloom, but it lasts far longer. Keep it dry and it will hold its shape for years. A velvet bloom has memory: if a petal bends in transit, nudge it gently back.

How many can I order, and will they match?

There is no minimum. Every piece in one order is shaped and tinted together from the same batch of velvet, so the set matches in person as well as in photographs. Allow extra bench time for larger orders — write to us with your date.

When will it ship?
